Project goals
By streamlining communication, reducing radio traffic, and improving information sharing across teams and agencies, it enhances response efficiency during both daily operations and emergencies.
This initiative aimed to:
- Enable real-time information sharing
- Improve data accuracy and personal accountability
- Provide an affordable, scalable solution for agencies

Design Strategy
I translated User Stories into User Flows to map out responder interactions, ensuring that critical operations were prioritized.
These flows informed wireframes, guiding discussions on UI options that balanced expanded capabilities with usability—especially in high-stress environments where quick access is paramount.

Evolution & expansion
Initially developed as Sting Mobile, the app was designed for police traffic and patrol operations, offering limited capabilities. As demand grew across various industries, the platform evolved, integrating new functionalities based on user feedback.
This led to a broader vision and the eventual rebranding as Intrepid Response to serve a wider range of first responders.

1st Iteration – Sting Mobile
I designed a simple, intuitive UI to ensure rapid navigation for responders. I prioritized accessibility, recognizing that users often operate in urgent situations.

Creating a design system
As the application suite and product capabilities grew, I created the Intrepid Design System using Atomic Design principles. This contained UI Libraries for mobile components and symbols.
Foundation: I created and maintained libraries for iconography, typography, and colors.

Atoms: I designed these basic building blocks to be flexible and generalized.

Molecules: These components are more complex and I used them in common patterns that can be repeated in the experience.

Organisms: Using the Atoms and Molecules, I created these feature-specific patterns, like personnel lists, action sheets, messages, and more.

Map Items: For map-related features, I designed dynamic Pins, Markers, and Shapes created by responders to display real-time updates.

2nd Iteration – Intrepid Response
I integrated the capabilities of multiple applications into a unified platform.
For example, the Activate product allows responders to create and mark availability for Callouts. These enhancements were accompanied by a rebranding and renaming to Intrepid Response.

My other UX enhancements:
- Designed an intuitive Channel System to organize personnel and operational data.
- Developed Call Out Integration, allowing responders to mark availability and seamlessly join new operational channels.
- Helped realize Channel Switching, enabling responders to shift operations seamlessly within the main interface.

Impact
By unifying operations into a single, user-friendly platform, Intrepid Response significantly improved coordination, efficiency, and response times for first responders.
